Day 73

When I was a kid, my mom used to call me her "finder". I could always find random items around the house, such as car keys, pens, slippers, and the like. It's not that I had radar, I would just remember where I last saw it. Not purposely, more like a passing glance at something and it would then be in my brain. I don't really know how or why, as I don't believe I have a photographic memory. Anyway, all that to say, I don't think I could find this product if my life depended it. What kind of cross marketing are they exhibiting here? But then again, everyone buys Easter candy and surgical masks together, don't they??

Day 72

Sometime last week, a friend of mine mentioned something about possibly going bowling. Now, I haven't been bowling in YEARS. And let's be honest, I was never very good. Saturday night it was, filled with black lights, disco balls, and bad music. Typically my goal for bowling is always the same - just try to break 100. We had time to play 3 games. Game one: 71. (Bowling: 1, Farron 0). Game two: 94. (Bowling: 2, Farron: 0). Game three: 110 (Bowling: 2, Farron 1). They say, the third time is the charm. In. your. face. bowling(!).

Day 71

I love flowers. There's nothing better to brighten a room than fresh flowers. They look pretty, they smell pretty and better yet, they come in a multitude of colors. I also love to take pictures of them. But, that's a bit irrelevant, seeing as how I love to take pictures of anything! This photo in particular was taken with my favorite iPhone app called Hipstamatic. Love.
Another (fun?) fact about me (and flowers): I've never been given flowers. Any boy to send me flowers will have my heart. Game on.

Day 70

Today was yet again, a go for a walk and take way too many pictures along the way, kind of day. I went for a short walk down around the Erie Canal (which if you're unfamiliar, is a canal that runs the entire length of the state of New York - from Buffalo to Albany). Which brings up a fun fact about me: I've lived in 4 different cites in New York State and all of them have been right along the canal.
I was only out for less than an hour and managed to take 130 pictures. I posted a few more, if you're interested, on my Flickr Page. Enjoy.

Day 69

Seems like a lot of these posts have been food related. My apologies, but I do love to cook. Today, I made mushroom swiss burgers with a balsamic mayo, with roasted potato wedges and sauteed broccoli with garlic. This was the before picture. It looks a pile of who knows what, but trust me, it was delicious. Did I mention I had ciabatta buns for the burgers? 'Cause I did. And they were mighty tasty. Cooking is fun.

Day 68

I remember being a kid. Specifically, I remember a few moments from elementary school. Namely, the first grade. Our teacher used to play "Kokomo" by the Beach Boys every morning on a record player that we had in the class room. We all knew the words, and would dance around the room to start each day. One day, in said first grade, we were having a chat about the future and what it would hold. Our predictions and hopes. My teacher promised there would be flying cars by the year 2000. When 2000 rolled around my eyes gazed up into the clouds, and what did I see? Nothing. Nada. Zip. What a rip off, no flying cars. That was the memory I was reminded of today when I caught a moment of a old rerun of The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Holy cellphone, batman! Look at the size of that thing! Very Zach Morris.

Day 67

I'm a fan of spicy. Spicy food, that is. One of my favorite things in life are spicy pretzels. Made by taking regular pretzels and letting them marinate in mixture made of oil (to aid in coating the pretzel), lemon pepper, cayenne pepper, and garlic. Simply transfer the pretzels from the original bag and into a large ziplock bag, after mixing the oil with spices simply pour into the bag to coat the pretzels. Let it mingle for while, give it a shake or two. Let it sit for an hour or so, then repeat. Then you may eat.
A word of caution...they are addicting. Highly.
